Literature always matters...

"Literature always matters, whether people read it or not. It is a witness account; it is a document that is going to outlast you, that’s going to live there for a long time. That’s why it matters.
One day, if it is a good book; if the subject is strong enough; if you wrote it with all your heart, people are going to discover it, if not this generation, maybe, another generation. We are still reading about Shakespeare; we are still reading about Homers, among others, who lived thousands of years ago. That’s how it works. I think you always think of posterity, not now. So, if it doesn’t matter now, it will matter in the future. That’s my belief; that’s why I do it. It is always going to matter."
